School Hours

School starts at 8:00 am and ends at 2:15 pm Monday - Friday.

There is no supervision for students before 7:30 am. 

Students should be picked up no later than 3:00 pm.

Attendance Procedures

If your student is absent, please call our ATTENDANCE HOTLINE (925-682-8000 x5090) or email at within 72 hours to let us know why your student is absent.

You do not need to come in the office to clear an absence.

Speak clearly and list the following or put the following in the e-mail:

Student's last name (spell please), first name, grade, date(s) of absence, reason, your name, your phone number, and your relation to student.

Please speak slowly and clearly.

Homework Club

Homework Club takes place in Room C2 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:15-3:15.

Chat with the Administration

On the first Friday of each month, VVMS hosts Chat with the Administration at 9:30 am in the Library.

MOuntain Mike's Pizza Fundraiser 

Valley View is having a fundraiser at Mountain Mike's pizza located on 1962 Contra Costa Blvd (in the Safeway/Starbucks/Nations center), all day on Thursday, March 21st and Friday, March 22nd.  Please tell them you are supporting Valley View Middle School and we will get 30% of the sales on those days.

Climate Survey - Families

We need Families/Parents to take this Survey - Thank you for your support of Valley View. 

Climate Survey 2019

The California Department of Education requires that all districts identify a local indicator for assessing school climate and parent engagement for their LCAP. To meet this requirement, Mt. Diablo will be using WestEd’s California Healthy Kids Survey for parents/guardians and community members.  Live links can be found on the district website and can be taken in English or Spanish.  All responses should be submitted online.  The survey window will be open from March 1-March 31, 2019.  

Elective Course SElection 2019 -2020 School year 

Electives will be chosen via HomeLink. You will need to have a HomeLink account. If you do not have a HomeLink account, please contact the Valley View Office at 686-6136.

The course request window opens on March 18th, 2019 at 4:00pm and closes Friday, March 22nd, 2019 at 11:59pm. Please make sure your selections are accurate. You can only make changes when the window is open. If you do not have access to a computer, you can use a Chromebook in Homework Club on Tuesday or Thursday, 2:15 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.

End of Day Policy

Dear Parents,                                                                                                         At 3:00 the gates will be closed and anyone still waiting for a ride will be instructed to remain in front of the Multi-Use room.  There will be no supervision after 3:00 and students should be leaving campus.  Students who are under supervision with a teacher will be walked out to the front when their activity is over.  Thank you for making arrangements for your students after school.

Flag Football 

The VVMS Flag Football Team is coeducational and we offer a "B" Team, which is for 6th/7th graders, and an "A" team, which is for 7th/8th graders.  The tryout dates are listed below. You must attend the tryouts for your specific grade level. The teams will be selected and team lists posted on the VVMS PE office door, Monday morning, April 8. Practice schedule will also be posted.  All tryouts will go from 2:30 - 4:-30 under the solar panels.  Bring a water bottle!  If you have questions, contact Coach Salmon.
