School Hours

School starts at 8:00 am and ends at 2:15 pm Monday - Friday.

There is no supervision for students before 7:30 am. 

Students should be picked up no later than 3:00 pm.

Attendance Procedures

If your student is absent, please call our ATTENDANCE HOTLINE (925-682-8000 x5090) within 72 hours to let us know why your student is absent.

You do not need to come in the office to clear an absence.

Speak clearly and list the following:  

Student's last name (spell please), first name, grade, date(s) of absence, reason, your name, your phone number, and your relation to student.

Please speak slowly and clearly.

 

Si su estudiante esta ausente, por favor llame nuestra LINEA DE ASISTENCIA (925-682-8000 x5090) en las primeras 72 horas de la ausencia para darnos la razón de la falta.

Usted no tiene que venir a la oficina para reportar la ausencia y puede dejar mensajes en español.

Homework Club

Homework Club takes place in Room C2 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:15-3:15.

Coffee with the Administration

On the first Friday of each month, VVMS hosts Coffee with the Administration at 9:30 am in the Library.

Winter Fest

Winter Wonderland:  Leadership will be hosting a Winter Wonderland event from 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, December 15.  There will be cookie decorating, snowflake cutting, and much more!  Hot chocolate will be for sale, along with concessions.  Music and karaoke will be offered as well.  Tickets for $5, will be on sale from December 6-15 in front of Liberty Square or the office.  Tickets at the door will be $10.  You will need a signed permission slip and your student ID along with the $10.  Students who purchased the “Spirit Pack” at all-in-one day will get a free ticket, but you still need a permission slip and ID.  See you there!  New Special!  With the purchase of each ticket, you will be automatically entered into a drawing to win an Amazon Fire 7 and a $50 Amazon gift card!

Drama and Music

Valley View’s very own drama department will be presenting a comedy double feature on two nights, Friday, December 1 and Friday, December 8, from 6:00-7:30 PM.  The plays are, “Check Please” and “This is a Test”, presenting a humorous look at dating and test taking in high school. Tickets are being sold in front of the office, and are $4 in advance, $10 at the door.

MDUSD has contracted with a group of outside speakers to provide the community information on a number of topics embedded into the LCAP.

Drop Off Traffic Pattern Change

There is a new drop-off traffic pattern for Valley View this year.  We are trying to alleviate some of the traffic issues in the morning.  Please click here for a map of the new traffic pattern.

 

End of Day Policy

Dear Parents,

 

 At 3:00 the gates will be closed and anyone still waiting for a ride will be instructed to remain in front of the Multi-Use room.  There will be no supervision after 3:00 and students should be leaving campus.  Students who are under supervision with a teacher will be walked out to the front when their activity is over.  Thank you for making arrangements for your students after school.
