"Vets of the Future" Event, 10/29
Do you like science? Do you love animals?
Do you want to be a veterinarian?
The Veterinary Student Outreach Club at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine would like to invite middle school students to a morning of interesting case studies and hands-on wetlabs. Learn to interpret radiographs, get your questions answered by veterinary students, explore comparative anatomy, and find out what being a veterinarian is all about.
The purpose of this event is to promote higher education, demonstrate career possibilities, expose students to science centered on veterinary medicine, and of course have tons of fun! 6th-8th graders welcome.

Students, Check out the App Challenge!
The app challenge, part of Verizon Innovative Learning, is a nationwide contest in which middle and high school students are challenged to develop concepts for mobile apps that solve a problem in their community.
It’s a unique, hands-on activity that teaches collaboration, critical thinking, problem solving, and entrepreneurship, as well as STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) skills and coding. It builds on students’ excitement about technology and aims to equip them with skills they need to succeed in the jobs of the future.
Registration is open now, and the submission deadline is November 18, 2016.
