Fright Fest- October 28th , 6:00pm- 8:00pm

Fright Fest is open to all VVMS students grades 6 - 8. It is an outdoor event provided that weather permits, otherwise we will move all the activities indoors.

Tickets cost $10 cash and include access to all activities; a professional photo booth,  a dance area with music/DJ, an air brush tattoo station, laser tag arena, Halloween themed games, and a projected scary movie. Food and drinks can be purchased at the event as well, so it's recommended to send students with $5-$10 dollars cash.

Tickets are on sale now and will be sold in front of the office at lunch through the 28th. To purchase tickets, students need their VVMS ID card, a signed permission slip and $10 cash. Permission slips can be found here or in the office. If students are on the non-participation list for behavior concerns, they will not be permitted  to purchase a ticket.

Costumes should not be worn to school on Oct 28th, but students can wear costumes  to the event if  they wish (no gore, no weapons, masks or face coverings are allowed and our modesty dress code rules still apply for this event, due to recent events on social media and around the country no Clown Costumes this is to keep our students safe. ). To get into the event students will need to check-in using their ID card and their ticket. Tickets will also be sold "at the door" on the 28th for an increased price of $12.

Parent Chaperones are needed to help supervise.

Questions? Available to chaperone? Email the Leadership teacher, Mrs. Ziegler, at manasewitschn@mdusd.org

Students, Check out the App Challenge!

The app challenge, part of Verizon Innovative Learning, is a nationwide contest in which middle and high school students are challenged to develop concepts for mobile apps that solve a problem in their community.

It’s a unique, hands-on activity that teaches collaboration, critical thinking, problem solving, and entrepreneurship, as well as STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) skills and coding. It builds on students’ excitement about technology and aims to equip them with skills they need to succeed in the jobs of the future.

Registration is open now, and the submission deadline is November 18, 2016.
